Re-Roofing & Roof Replacement in Melbourne
When an existing roof has reached the end of its serviceable life, repeated repairs may no longer be the most appropriate long-term solution.
LR Roofing undertakes complete re-roofing and roof replacement in Melbourne, carefully assessing the existing roof before recommending the most suitable approach for the property.
Depending on the building and project requirements, this can include stripping the existing roof covering, repairing or replacing damaged roof components, installing appropriate underlay and battens, and completing the new roof using carefully selected tiles or slate.
For period and traditional properties in particular, consideration is given to the appearance and character of the existing building as well as the long-term performance of the roof.
Heritage & Period Property Roofing in Melbourne
Older properties often require a more considered approach to roofing.
Materials, roof detailing and the existing character of the building can all influence how roofing work should be approached, particularly on heritage properties, listed buildings and homes within conservation settings.
LR Roofing provides heritage and period property roofing in Melbourne, combining practical roofing experience with skilled workmanship and careful material selection.
Our work can include:
- Complete heritage roof replacement
- Natural slate roofing
- Slate restoration and replacement
- Traditional leadwork
- Chimney and flashing work
- Clay tile roofing
- Repair and replacement of damaged roof timbers where required as part of the roofing works
- Careful retention or reuse of suitable existing roofing materials where appropriate
For listed buildings or properties subject to conservation requirements, the property owner may need to obtain the appropriate permissions before certain work can proceed. We can work to the agreed roofing specification where applicable.
Natural Slate Roofing in Melbourne
Natural slate is particularly well suited to many period, heritage and traditional properties, offering a distinctive appearance alongside excellent long-term performance.
Our team undertakes natural slate roofing and slate re-roofing in Melbourne, including projects where existing slate needs to be assessed, carefully removed and, where suitable, retained or reused.
Depending on the property and specification, work may involve new natural slate, reclaimed slate, replacement of damaged slate and associated traditional leadwork.
The right approach will always depend on the individual roof, existing materials and requirements of the property.
