Twycross Roof & Extension Project

This was a fantastic project we completed last year on a unique and character-filled property, once owned by the original founders of Twycross Zoo — complete with its own penguin pond in the grounds!

Our team worked closely with the current owners to transform and modernise the home, while enhancing both space and energy efficiency. The works carried out included:
• Full hip-to-gable roof extension to maximise the upstairs living area.
• Lower rear extension to significantly enlarge the kitchen space, adding light and functionality.
• Counter-battened roof with PIR insulation between rafters and multi-layered SuperQuilt insulation, bringing the property up to modern U-value standards.
• Installation of two large EPDM warm roof systems for durable, energy-efficient flat roof areas.
• New fascia, soffit, and guttering for a clean and contemporary finish.
• Silicone-based render and modern cladding to enhance the exterior appearance and weather protection.

The rear extension in particular added an impressive amount of natural light and usable space to the home.
